Pet Peeves

I don't take medicine. I feel better when I sleep, its my way of recovering from illness. When you forced me to take medicine, I feel like my life gets a little shorter. Its like I've lost ten years of my life. So don't you ever give me medicine to make me feel better, give me pillow and a blanket instead. :)

I hate answering phone calls. It sucks! I don't know why, but I'm lazy at answering phone calls. Be it the most special person who are calling, I don't care. If it's important, then text it to me. I will reply immediately for sure, but a call? Good luck!

People who doesn't know the concept of "keep right" irritates me a lot. I just don't know why there are people who don't know that they should walk in their right side. Especially in the mall, in the ladder and anywhere where there are a lot of people. Nakakainit sila ng ulo!

Lessons Learned + Realization 1

For the past years of my life, I have learned a lot of lessons in life, along with it are realizations. So here, I documented those, and plan to make it a series. :)

An incident with my former supervisor in a silver jewelry store, and the company itself. My former supervisor is one of the pioneer supervisor in the company. But when the time the company noticed some anomaly in our branch, they immediately conducted an secret investigation towards him and secretly approached us to tell the truth. Sadly, I was one of the staff being asked to proceed to the head office to meet the owner and the general manager to discuss the matter. On behalf of the former staffs who's contract was ended, I spoke their complains. To cut the story short, he was proven guilty with his acts. The verdict? He was fired by the company he is working for ten years. My former co-workers were so thankful to me for doing such courageous act, as if I was a state witness in a crime. But after that, my supervisor approached me with a hopeless face and told me, "Bakit?" Hindi ako nakasagot due to my surprise. Surprise, because of his question. Why he is asking me that, when he knew very well, I'm just telling the truth.

Lesson learned: Speak for the truth, even if it means fighting against someone who is powerful than you. Moreover, speaking for the benefits of the majority.
Realization: Transparency between company-employee still exist!

A friend whom I always helped with his problem, but when tough situation comes, he's always on the other side. But when he needs an ears to listen to his stories, a sensitive issue to discuss, I'm a friend.

Lesson learned: I will NEVER be like him.
Realization: One) I have a kind and loving heart, that's why I'm blessed.
Two) There were people talaga na magaling lang kapag may kailangan, BINGO!

Because a lesson learned always comes with realization. . . . . . .

3 Idiots

The other day, pinapanood sakin ni Van yung movie na "3 Idiots", and I say, you're missing half of your life kung 'di mo sya mapapanood. I was inspired by the movie to always do good to everyone. Oh well!

I want to be like Rancho, his positive view towards life, the way he encourage his friends, I want to be Racho in my own way. :)

My favorite scene, scenes actually, was first, the scene when he define what is a machine. That was a typical scenario in many colleges and universities.  Some students were so bookish, nakarelate ako dun. I prefer to define things in my own way, the way how I understood. Why complicate things nga naman if you can simplify it? Funny when return because he forgot something, and when asked what it is, instead of just simply saying "book" he define what is a book. Laughtrip talaga! Another is when Raju applying for a job but refuses to change his attitude in exchange for a position in the company. I like the way he answered "No offense Sir. Keep the job, I'll keep my attitude". How nice! Superb yung eksena na yun! Another is yung sa may finale part, wherein Racho called Chatur to stop him. And when he saw the name Phunsukh Wangdu on his phone calling him, immediately he answered with delight, not knowing Phunsukh Wangdu is also Rancho, the scientist na hinahanap nya to sign a deal with the company he worked for.

The story, the lesson, simple yet reality-based. Though 2009 pa pala naipalabas yun sa India, at least I got the chance to watched it kahit pa 2013 na. :) I didn't miss the half of my life. :)

Aal izz well!

Humility says. . . . .

Psalms 25:9
He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way.

Humility is something that is gained and practiced as we grow in wisdom and grace. Easton’s 1897 Bible Dictionary defines “humility” as: a prominent Christian grace. It is a state of mind well pleasing to God; it preserves the soul in tranquility and makes us patient under trials  Biblically speaking, humility is the opposite of pride. And according to one thesaurus source, some other antonyms for humility are: arrogance, assertiveness, egoism, pretentiousness, and self-importance.

Thesis Making (part 1): Its More Fun at International Center UP Diliman

Since the first day ng thesis, Van & I never expected na ganito magiging kasaya ang experience namin sa pagbuo ng research. From the day we learned na start na ng defense ng January 10, we immediately came up with titles. After the title defense was successfully done, Van & I made all the necessary steps para di kami mahirapan, knowing hindi magiging madali ang paggather namin ng data since half of our chosen respondents are Koreans, and the other half are students from provinces. Plus the fact na we are going to do this research outside the campus.

So Van & I decided na magpunta agad ng UP Diliman, isa kasi sa mga research setting namin ang UP Diliman. Since UP ang pupuntahan namin, we dont expect anything but hope for the best na sana maging successful ang lakad namin para di sayang sa pamasahe, yun lang. We first went sa main building, thinking na dun marami since "main" nga e. At dun namin malamang pwedeng makuha ang respondents at the same time mga taong pwedeng mapagtanong regarding our concerns, plus yung permits necessary para legal ang paggather namin ng data. At syempre nakita namin ang oblation ng UP kaya, picture picture agad. Syempre documentation purpose narin.

After, lapit na kami sa guard. Kuya guard is very nice and accomodating, nagbanggit sya ng mga ilang buildings wherein we can ask daw. He mentioned, Vinzon's Hall. There are a lot of students daw dun na nakatambay, mga organizations sa loob ng UP. We thought na pwede lakarin, haha. Buti na lang we asked couple of students na parang nagpa-practice ng kung ano man yun, haha. They were very nice, di sila mga suplado at suplada, we better ride daw kasi malayo ang Vinzon's Hall sa UP main. At hindi nga sila nagkamali, kasi malayo nga. Haha! Kaloka, hitsura namin kung nilakad namin yun?

Pagdating namin sa Vinzon's Hall, syempre, we asked again kuya guard. They referred us sa OSA for permits, but OSA told us na sa website na lang daw kami tumingin. Slight, medyo napanghinaan kami ng loob, pero still have the courage na dapat maging successful ang lakad since sayang nga sa pamasahe. Haha. Kuya guard told us, if we need daw foreign students, then punta daw kami ng IC, short for International Center. Ask daw namin kung pwede dun. So, we just did.

Pagdating ng International Center, may bumati agad saming guard at isang parang head dun sa IC. We asked kung pwede, much to our surprise, hinanapan agad kami ng letter, para makapagconduct agad kami kinabukasan. Sobrang blessing talaga yung natisod namin ni Van. Kaya we went back immediately sa OLFU to produce the letter they need at mapapirmahan na sa authorities. He then asked, "kuya may jeep po ba na dumadaan dito?" The guy answered back, "what? speak english." Hahahaha, OMG, kasi naman diba International Center nga e, so meaning although they have features like Filipinos, most probably, foreign sila. :P We think he is an Indonesian ata or Malaysian, he looks Filipino kasi.

Habang binibigay namin yung letter we noticed, there were a lot of foreign students nga at IC. And many of those foreigns were Koreans, na syang subjects namin for our data gathering. They look nice naman and approachable, kaya lalo natuwa naman kami ni Van. We learned that the person we are actually talking to pala si Maam Andrea, who is the officer in-charge in IC. She told us na call na lang daw kami for schedule ng availability ng mga students, so that maging smooth ang takbo ng data gathering namin.

That very first day pa lang thankful na talaga agad kami ni Van, kasi parehas di kami familiar sa lugar, but with Louie around, everything becomes light. Haha. Plus, lahat ng napagtanungan namin sa UP campus, guards, authorities, students, even mga vendors, they were so nice and warm. Feeling talaga namin ni Van, everything that day was so perfect. Blessing na blessing talaga. Parang sign na everything will be easy and light. Tapos yung pamasahe namin, worth it.

Minsan kasi, its not actually the task itself, but the places and people that makes the hard task easy. At yun ang naramdaman namin ni Van that day. :)
